Vortex (Pink)

Shot from directly above, twenty ballerinas in white tutus form a perfect spiral on a ground of dusty rose. Arranged in an outward-turning vortex, their white tulle skirts overlap and echo one another until the individual dancers dissolve into pattern — a living mandala built from choreography and repetition.

The square format holds the composition in its natural symmetry, and the soft pink ground gives the image a warmth that keeps it from feeling purely graphic. There is motion implied in the vortex's rotation even though every dancer is still — the eye follows the spiral outward from the centre and finds no end point, just a continuous turning.
