Swan

A perfectly circular pool photographed from directly overhead, its turquoise water held inside a clean ring of pale coping and cut into a surround of deep green. From this height the depth disappears entirely and the pool reads as a flat disc of colour — a single saturated shape set into a darker field.

There is almost nothing else in the frame. No swimmers, no furniture, no horizon to tell you how large any of it is. What is left is the relationship between a circle and the ground it sits in.
