Ombra

A stone farmhouse at Borgo Pignano sits along the right edge, pale blue shutters set into the wall, its terracotta roof running diagonally out of frame. A single enormous oak dominates the centre, throwing shade across the paving. Three white parasols, a rose bed in red and white, and the corner of a pool anchor the lower left.

The composition works on the tension between the hard geometry of the terrace and the loose sprawl of the tree — a Tuscan summer read from directly above.
