Introducing Aqualillies x Brad Walls

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share with you my recent experience photographing the renowned Aqualillies, a world-famous Artistic Swimming group based in Los Angeles, Miami, and Europe. Last week, we had the opportunity to capture their mesmerizing performances at the stunning Pelican Hill resort, located just north of Newport Beach. This resort boasts the largest circular pool in North America, making it the perfect setting for a project of this magnitude.

This photo shoot marked my second series dedicated to showcasing the beauty and elegance of artistic swimming. My first series, titled 'Water Geomaids,' was photographed in Sydney back in 2021. Building upon that experience, I collaborated with Mary, the creative director and head of the Aqualillies group, to create something truly extraordinary. Our shared vision was to produce the most spectacular aerial photographs of artistic swimming since the legendary Busby Berkeley.

Working with 16 performers in the water was a new and exciting challenge for both Mary and I. We embraced the logistical and creative hurdles with enthusiasm. In the weeks leading up to the shoot, I sketched various ideas, focusing on patterns of 16 and incorporating geometric elements to form the foundation of the photoshoot.

The shoot itself lasted three hours, during which we captured some breathtaking compositions. I can't wait to share these images with you over the coming months. If you haven't already, please sign up for my newsletter below to stay updated on the release of these stunning photographs.

Thank you all for your continued support.
